GENERAL INFORMATION

This website contains important information on how to contact a doctor for urgent medical treatment when your surgery is closed.

You must always contact your surgery first to find out if it is open and to obtain the telephone number of the out-of-hours service.

WHO ARE WE ?

The Association of North Warwickshire and District Doctors-on-Call Limited, known as `NEWDOC', is a non-profit making company which provides an URGENT out-of-hours service for the patients of some of the GPs who practise in Nuneaton & Bedworth, North Warwickshire and the Hinckley area of Leicestershire. Because not all local GPs use NEWDOC for their out-of-hours calls, you should check with your own GPs surgery before you use NEWDOC. This is because NEWDOC can only normally take calls from the patients of its GP members, unless you are a temporary resident or visitor to the area and are not registered with a local GP. NEWDOC's duty doctors are all local GPs in current practice. We never use agency or locum doctors.
